- радикально інноваційний підхід до реалізації експозиційного обладнання;

- ретельне функціональне планування – нічого зайвого, тільки корисний простір;

Project description: Opening the “Gorod Dverey”new-style hypermarket gave a push to creating large-scale shopping premises which finally eliminated the archaic conventionalities in displaying modern door products.

The key ideas of the project are:

- a radically innovative approach to usage of display equipment;

- thorough functional planning: nothing but usable space;

- maximal recycling: reusing materials to protect the environment.

Among the urgent issues to be solved, three top priorities have crystallized.

Renouncing the gypsum constructions which used to add to the unwanted mess when the goods on display were being changed. Considering the costs of such materials, they also caused financial inconvenience.

Creating a stable yet mobile seat which would be easy to adjust to the dynamic assortment.

Fulfilling the creators’ concept of letting the visitors actually enter the doors. Despite the obvious absurdity of this, most door stores have nothing but blank wall behind their doors.

Due to comprehensive communication of all the project participants and due to thorough analysis of disadvantages of the previous premises, the project has accumulated industrial interior design with practical attributes of constructionism, that is, clear functional connection between all the zones as well as a thoroughly logical approach in planning every single square meter. Planned down to the smallest detail!

The center of attention is a massive metal structure. Looking like a gigantic construction set for kids, it can be easily adjusted to any door size. An innovation in products display is the flow-through seat design. Voilà! The visitors of the hypermarket can both open and enter each door. A logical follow-up is a jamb extension installed at the back side. These principal differences demonstrate the absolute innovativeness of the “Gorod Dverey” project in the door production niche.

The shopping premises are divided into several functional zones creating a comfortable work environment for nearly thirty employees of the hypermarket.

The first floor:

- a retail zone: an entrance hall where managers meet the visitors;

- a showroom with nearly 300 display models;

- a guest zone for express negotiations (up to 10 people);

- a lecture room with a projection screen (up to 50 people) for corporate seminars and other important events;

- a children’s area for drawing where kids can play while parents watch the products;

- a library where architects, civil engineers and designers can look through the newest catalogues and professional books over a cup of coffee;

- an enhanced comfort zone for employees with a mini kitchen, lockers for personal belongings as well as spacious sanitary facilities and showers.

The second floor:

- a conference zone where internal meetings take place;

- the administration section of the hypermarket.

Unpolished metal, wood and glass prevail among the materials. The project illustrates a string of extravagant decisions in terms of recycling. An apt example of this is the racking equipment which would have become scrap metal had it not been noticed and used for building most of the metal parts, e.g., the second floor platform. By the way, the total weight of the metal used is 17 tons! The strong bulletproof glass around the hypermarket cashier’s counter is also a product of reincarnation. It used to belong to a bank and was purchased at an auction. As a result, the ordering party’s costs were saved, and the industrial interior design ideas were followed through.
